Graduating with a degree in Accounting in 1979, Lorraine began her career in the UK, where she honed her skills as an accountant for three years. Driven by a passion for innovation, she trained as a computer programmer in 1982, finishing at the top of her class.
A move to New Zealand in 1983 allowed Lorraine to build on her IT skillset while working with the Goodman Group. In 1988, she joined QED Software as a Senior Analyst Programmer specializing in accounting, quickly becoming known for her exceptional client service. During her tenure, she developed one of New Zealand's first online messaging systems, showcasing her pioneering spirit and technical acumen.
Lorraine's career continued to flourish when she joined the TimberSmart team in 2005. Her contributions were instrumental in making TimberSmart the leading timber inventory system in both New Zealand and Australia.
In 2024, Lorraine co-founded Business Boost, where her unique combination of accounting and IT skills has proven invaluable. Business Boost provides expert bookkeeping and business advisory services, helping growing companies navigate their financial and operational challenges.
